First thing; I opened my curtains to check the situation…na doesn’t even look like its gonna snow..sun is coming out..disappointing!
Logged on to the internet to check the score ..India is batting..2 for 22..Tendulkar and Pathan gone..thats disappointing too.
Half an hour later the temperature has risen to 6oC looks like theres no snow….aww..
And cricket….another wicket down..looks like this is going nowhere.
Another fifteen minutes…the temperature is falling..its close to 2oC now..and suddenly theres something white falling all over..is it snow? No its hard and hitting my window with a lot of sound….its hail..not snow. That was deceiving.
Virender sewhag has started hitting the ball around……maybe theres a chance now…and then he`s out.. that’s 49 for 4..oh no.
Its now stopped hailing…temperature is dropping further….looks promising…..all set for snow.
Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj singh come together..they are forging a partnership…this looks promising too.
And then Dravid is out….India looks done for..
But hey whats that outside my window…little flakes of cottony stuff….Its snow! Yes its snow…at last..when was the last time it snowed in Plymouth? God knows. Forecast shows that its now 0oC but feels like -4.Yuvraj singh and M.kaif are putting on a partnership..looks good but will it last?
The snow continues..first dying down but the picking up again…the question is will it last too ? Its melting off as soon as it hits the ground.
The partnership is building..looks like India are on the way to a revival…run rate has picked up too.
Its been snowing for 45 mins now….the snow is still melting off the ground but hey its beginning to accumulate on cars.Its been an hour now….thats an 80 run partnership between the two batsmen….finally the ship looks steady.
The snow has picked up too..its coming down harder it now feels like -6oC although the temp is still 0oC. all cars are beginning to turn white..the trees too..this is real snow…a rare thing in Plymouth.Another half an hour..Yuvraj out…Kaif follows…the slide has started again. The snow is still beating down..
the rooftops are all white now…the grass too…..that’s more consistent than the Indian batting line up.Agarkar comes..and goes..now its Harbajan and Dhoni…just two more wickets to go…India are 187 for 8 wickets…i`ve given up…
The temperature has dropped further..its now -10C…feels like -7 .but hey the snow is dying down….looks like its going to stop.
Ten minutes later..Dhoni is out followed soon after by Harbajan..all out
The snow has died out too….its all over…strange parallels!
P.S.
Of course India went on to lose the match by 10 wickets..but came back strongly to level the series...the snowfall..it resumed after an hours break with renewed vigour too. Its been the heaviest snowstorm in Devon and Cornwall for the past 10 years. we`re also expecting more snow with this winter expected to be the severest in the past 10 years...yikes.
